Faithfulness

God has been good to us, and we are seeing his faithfulness everywhere. Its not that we ever doubt our Father, or are ever apprehensive of him coming through for us, but its a marvel to see the products of faith and the reliability of God. Time after time we witness gifts of grace he has given us. And we can only praise and thank Him for his generosity. Cause lets admit, we are not the most lovable creatures out there. And to expand on that, what really do we posses or can give that deserves such grace? Lets be honest.

But again, I'm drawn to the faithfulness of our God. If only I can replicate such loyalty and dependability in my relationships, especially my marriage. Honesty, truth, fidelity(in action and mind), devotion, admiration, understanding, and kindness are just a few facets one should equip in the heart. And we may fail. It is inevitable. However, what will define us is not necessarily where we have folded, but instead where we have defeated failure and have risen to promote excellence.

Hannah has been blessed with a second job at a nursing home. And while it is undesirable hours and day, we will take it as a blessing. It will provide as another sort of income, until something else comes along. As school began last week for me, so did it for Hannah as well. She is taking a Womens Ministry class, where she will further her understanding of Scripture and Women ministry. This is going to be very productive for her, for it will allow her to be more effective as my co-partner in ministry later on. My teammate and companion. She is excited, and so am I.

Seminary did start last week, and its been great so far. I have learned so much in a week. Though as i predicted there is required a lot of reading and writing, I'm eager about it. When something is your passion, its hard to not be excited for it. There is a good work going on in Hannah and I being here, and we will continue to seek His face and purpose for us here.

Please, continue to be in prayer for Hannah's upcoming jobs. As well as for Gods placement for myself in some part-time occupation. And also please pray for the future positions of ministry for Hannah and I following seminary. We are unsure of our mission field right now and will continue to be open to God to use us.

In Love,
Hannah and Scott

The Greatness of Crotcheting

Its been a week or longer since our last post. I have been waiting for something exciting to respond to, much like the police force giving us a visit or our AC dying on us. However, nothing that amusing has happened the past week or so. We have had alot of free time lately, but that is Oh, so quickly going to change in the next few days. Hannah is quickly coming along as a wonderful wife, not that i ever doubted her. Not only has she been preparing the meals most every night, but she has picked up a hobby that is much along the same maternal instincts.

Crotchet.

In the past few days she has completed a small purse, a cup holder, and a large bag. Its really quite impressive. And a very practical hobby. And heres why: No longer do we have to buy clothes, blankets, curtains, towels, oven mitts, christmas gifts, or birthday presents. We have a crotchet-er in the House. And she can do it all. So friends and family, expect your first born to receive a baby-Afghan, and if your done having kids expect to receive some over-the-hill booties.

Another update. Tiger is -7 going into the third day of the PGA championship. With a 4 stroke lead. The past two days, and the future two days will be accompanied with following Tiger through the whole tournament. What is it that draws so much attention towards Tiger? Yes, he is an amazing golfer. Yes, he has the consistency of the rising sun. But still, as I have followed Tiger this entire summer.... he is always, I mean always, followed by a crowd that is 4 times larger than any other PGA individual on the course that day. There is just something about his celebrity status that interests us. We watch his every move, and so does every network station. He is just so fun to watch. His shots are incredible, and we only wish to hit the ball with such accuracy and confidence has he does.

But with all that said, here is what I have stumbled upon the past few days: What if we could take all that infatuism we have with Tiger, or in this case substitute any iconic symbol/or person, and focus it on our impression and idea of Christ and his accomplishments. Its easy to stand in awe of Tiger Woods, or Obama(for you democrats), or Oprah, or Lebron for what they have achieved. Maybe its time we start to put off our Tiger fascinations and start to become more fascinated with the Cross. Instead of following Tiger for 18 holes, lets try to follow Christ for 85 years, give or take. Theres a little more importance on the latter, it seems.

Or, maybe this is my own convictions.

But none-the-less, the work of Christ on the cross cannot be forgotten or suppressed in our walk. I pray that it never will be for you. And again I state, do not allow the sins He bore for us to go without praise and admiration. Gratitude.

Ok, Im stepping away from the pulpit now.

I can also report, we have friends now!! We are going to a minor league baseball game tonight with a few people. This should be alot of fun. Lets hope the heat doesnt put us in a stroke.

Have a blessed week,

Scott and Hannah

Overcoming Tennis, and the DMV

The past week has felt much like summer. In a good way. Now that all the wedding stuff is done, and the moving is taken care of, Hannah and I have been able to finally just sit back relax and do whatever comes our way. Alot of our days, particularly mornings due to the humidity/temperatures, have been filled with tennis. Just a mile or so from our place is a nice community center with an abundance of tennis courts. And the nice thing about these courts is that no one is ever really on them, unlike Fargo. Im not sure if thats because of the heat, or the laxity of North Carolinians. Either way, it just means available tennis courts whenever we want. Its fun to get out of the house. Oh, and should I mention the victor of our fiesta of matches?

Thats right. Lets here it for, Scott!!!
Hip-Hip Hooray! Hip-Hip Hooray!

Apart from taking Hannah to School in tennis, we spend our days inside chillin'. And doing just that. I can officially report our AC is in working condition again. And for future AC holders, a filter in clean working condition is vital.

Our nights are filled with movies. RedBox has become our temporary friend. We have enjoyed catching up with him most nights.

Becoming a resident of a new state requires a change of your Driving License, most of us would know. And while some states require a simple exchange of documents, others will demand a test. And North Carolina just happens to be one that issues tests. So yesterday, I browsed over the NC DMV website and then grabbed a paper-number at the local DMV outpost. Why is it that every DMV attracts a line? 1.5 hours and 20/20 questions later I received my NC drivers license.

Thats right. 20 out of 20.
Boo-yah NC DOT!!!

Hannah, unfortunately, was not allowed to take the test because she has to get a new and updatesd SSN Card. So in about 2-3 weeks, we will have to put the NC DMV in the ground again!!!

We attended a church on Sunday for the second time. And we really seem to enjoy it. Our only concern is the size of it. Though we were originally planning on something a little smaller, we felt the community, worship, and Pastoral-ship of the Church was right in our ally. We are very excited about the Preaching/teaching pastor. He has a sense of confidence yet humbleness, authority yet grace. His heart seems pure, and his teachings sound. Hannah and I also went early on Sunday to attend one of their sunday school classes. The class was very good, and perfect in size(8-10 couples). It has anywhere from newlyweds to couples with several years of marriage under-the-belt. They were extremely welcoming and we are quite excited for sticking out with this Church. Richland Creek Community Baptist is the name.

As for everything else, things are going well. Please, continue to be praying for us with adjusting and settling in here.

Time to time, Im going to place a list of prayers. Feel free to partner with us in them.

Prayer:
-For Hannah finding a new graduate program in the winter to attend
-For the start and acclamation of Seminary
-Finding a Job for Scott that fits the time restrictions and financial promises
-And for God to equip us to partner in ministry with Richland Creek

Please, fill us in with how things are going in your life.

For Christ

Scott and Hannah
