Our AC went out.
Living in North Dakota it wouldnt be too big of a problem, considering the temperature recently is just barely staying in the 80's and the nights much cooler than that. But since our most recent move dropped us a few latitudes(or is it longitudes), the climate has altered. The humidity intensified. And the dependence upon artificial cooling bumped up a notch. We just spent a night with no AC, one fan, and for me personally, a whole lot of sweat. Hannah, maybe not so much. But with the temperatures in the 90's, and the nights feeling not much different, you start to feel a bit uncomfortable.
Admist all the sweat, sleepless nights, and cold showers, I can still say "The Lord gave, and the Lord taketh away." Praise be to God. Unfortunately, it took the AC giving out this time, for me to be thankful once again for the things I do have. Let us not forget the blessings we receive. For I fear the day when I fail to acknowledge the gifts of God and rather trade them for acts of ungracious self-doing. I pray no day will come.
As for Hannah and I, we arrived back home couple days past from our honeymoon. We spent 4 days at a brand new resort in Colonial Williamsburg(thanks mom, dad and RCI). Busch Gardens, historic land marks, and VA beach occupied our days. But I think what was most enjoyed was the relaxation we were able to have Husband and Wife. No packing, no moving, no driving, no nothing but time to talk, sit, watch food network, and just be with each other. It was fun. And needed. Its been a busy month and half.
But alas, we are home. And we can joyously say it is starting to feel like it. Home.
Be wise. Be thankful. Be ready.
Scott and Hannah
